FJA Legislative Counsel Selected to the Inaugural Class of the Florida Bar Leadership Academy

On May 3, 2013, G.C. Murray, Jr., Esq., Legislative Counsel for the Florida Justice Association, was selected to be an Inaugural Fellow in the Florida Bar Leadership Academy. Membership to the Academy is extremely competitive; Mr. Murray was selected as one of 30 inductees from hundreds of applicants to represent the North Branch which encompasses the 1st, 2nd and 5th DCAs of Florida. The program lasts for one year and is designed to enhance the leadership skills of a diverse and inclusive group of lawyers.

Fellows of the Academy have the opportunity to network, interact, collaborate and build relationships with state and national bar leadership. It was important to Mr. Murray to be a part of the Academy to enhance his own leadership skills, enlarge his network, and position himself to give back to the legal community in a big way. Being a member of the Academy also affords Mr. Murray the opportunity to learn more about the Florida Bar and its rich past, while also contributing to its future.

Mr. Murray graduated from The Florida State University College of Law in December 2011 and was admitted to the Florida Bar in July 2012. Before joining the FJA as Legislative Counsel in December, he opened his own practice, GCM Law, specializing in personal injury, business optimization, and intellectual property law. Mr. Murray recently founded the AHD Progressive Symposium, in honor of his late friend Amber Drummond, J.D., which focuses on networking and job placement for graduating 3Ls.
