Titans of Trial || Sheldon J. Schlesinger
December 2015

Together, The Florida Justice Association mourns the loss of a giant in our profession - Mr. Sheldon J. Schlesinger.  Mr. Schlesinger  honorably and professionally represented individuals and consumers in landmark cases across the nation for over 50 years.'

Described as a "bulldog for the underdog," Sheldon J. Schlesinger personified the iconic and historic trial lawyer as advocate, friend, and conscience of the community.

Whether it was taking on the killers in the tobacco industry, securing safe products for our kids and grandkids, or ensuring dangerous doctors knew someone was watching, Sheldon always stood in the breach for the common man.

Mr. Schlesinger also had a heart of gold.  He was actively involved in the South Florida community, serving on the Board of Governors of Nova-Southeastern Law Center for many years. He also served on the Board of Trustees of Broward Community College for 16 years, and he was Chairman of the Board for 13 years.

The Schlesinger family is a long time supporter of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, the American Cancer Society and many other civic and charitable organizations.

We at FJA, along with lawyers and victims everywhere, offer our sincerest condolences, thoughts and prayers for the Schlesinger Family at this most difficult time.

Edmund Burke said,"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."  Sheldon never shrunk from the fight. We've lost a good man.  But we are thankful such have lived.
